We all use Google don’t we? We mean right from doing some research about something to checking the spelling of a word, Google is where we land. Almost ninety nine percent of the nation has their accounts on Gmail. Any notification coming on our Gmail accounts are trusted blindly and not even looked at in detail. But this is a practice which may invade our privacy.

Google recently announced an update on their privacy policies which are set to go live from November 11, 2013.  This is set by default and we don’t really bother to read the changes in our Privacy Policies.  In today’s’ time it’s difficult to not use Google frequently and hence we avoid all this, thinking that it may cause a glitch in our daily activities. But if we look at it carefully, Google has pushed in a few lines which allow them to use your Profile information including your profile picture to endorse Google run Ads.

Speculations are, that Google may use our images and other private information, which we may not want to share, on online ads. This information may be put on ads related to product reviews, blogs or articles on which we have commented on. The next line may come as little but of a shocker to you but the feature may already have been activated on your profile as you read this.

Not to worry. There are a few simple steps you could follow in order to jump 0ut of the situation. Log on to your Google account, go to the Home page and enter your Email ID and Password. On logging in, navigate to the “Endorsements”  Page of Google. From there, go to the bottom of the page, uncheck the “Based on my activity” box and voila. From here on Google would not be able to use your pictures for any sort of ads.

Keep in mind before accepting any pop ups or agreements in the future to disable such clauses. Keep your information and data safe because no one has the right to use them without your consent. Stay safe.
